Our Optometry Professionals Want You to Know the Signs of Vision Loss
You would think that it is not difficult to miss any indications of vision loss because we use our eyes for everything. But, if your vision loss is gradual, you may not be aware of it in the first place. At Shippee Family Eye Care, P.C., we encourage all of our patients in the St. Johnsbury, Lancaster, and Montpelier areas to come in for an eye exam every year for us to detect the signs of sight loss. After all, vision is one of the most precious aspects to have, and once it is lost, it could be very difficult to recover.
The Top Indicators of Sight Loss
Vision is becoming blurrier: This problem is the most obvious sign of sight loss. If you are having trouble seeing things clearly, it is time to visit our doctors of optometry to figure out what is triggering blurry vision.
Bumping into objects: You could be knocking things over, tripping easily, or brushing up against walls more often.
Cannot move around without hesitating first: You may feel the need to walk slowly so that you do not hit anything on the way. You may also cautiously go up or down the stairs or when you are walking on bumpy surfaces.
Avoid performing daily tasks: You may not want to watch television, read, walk, or drive anymore because your vision is not as clear.
Fine print becomes harder to read: Reading becomes difficult, and you may hold your mail, book, newspaper closer or at an angle for clarity.
