Signs of Computer Vision

Computer Vision

If you are like most people, you use your computer for various activities, ranging from work to entertainment. But how often do you think about the health of your eyes? Computer users are susceptible to a condition called Computer Vision Syndrome. Let’s look at some signs you should know about from our eye doctors at Shippee Family Eye Care.

Eye Fatigue

One of the most known symptoms of computer vision is eye fatigue. If your eyes feel tired or strained after using a computer for a prolonged time, it could be a sign that you are suffering from the syndrome. To alleviate this symptom, try taking breaks every 20 minutes to let your eyes rest. Additionally, make sure that your computer screen is positioned correctly to avoid straining your eyes to see it.

Blurred Vision

Another sign of computer vision is a blurry field of view. If your eyes feel blurry or unfocused after using a computer, it is a sign that you need to take a break. Once again, try to position your computer properly.

Dry Eyes

If your eyes feel dry or irritated after using a computer, it could indicate CVS. To alleviate this symptom, try blinking more often or use artificial tears. You should also make sure that the air in your office or home isn't too dry.

Headaches

One of the more severe signs of CVS is headaches. If you are getting headaches more frequently after using the computer more often, it is essential to take a break and see if the symptoms subside. If they don't, you may want to consult with a doctor to rule out any other potential causes.
